Frédéric Durand appointed Director of Human Resources at Institut Pasteur

On proposal of the president, the Board of Governors, which met on Wednesday April 24, 2024, has approved the appointment of Frédéric Durand to the position of Director of Human Resources at Institut Pasteur, a position he has held on an interim basis since December 2023.

Frédéric Durand will be responsible for managing the human resources teams within the Senior Executive Division, and for supporting Pasteurians in the changes linked to the implementation of the Pasteur 2030 strategic plan.

This support will be based in particular on :

  • constantly listening to employees through surveys/barometers, an essential step in objectifying our decisions;

  • transparency and a spirit of responsibility within Institut Pasteur's walls. These are essential conditions for building the "One Pasteur" spirit;

  • initiating and steering actions to support careers, develop skills and improve the quality of life and well-being at work for all Pasteur staff.

With a Master's degree in International Business from Paris 8, and an MBA in International Business and Marketing from Baruch College in New York (CUNY), Frédéric Durand has a solid bilingual and multicultural background :

  • Between 1997 and 2004, Frédéric was based in New York, working for the French Embassy and then Xceed Group as Strategic Marketing Manager.

  • In 2005, he joined a London-based start-up specializing in IT consulting for Microsoft technology (Content and Code) as Human Resources Manager.

  • From 2007 to 2019, he was in charge of human resources at the Touax Group, where he was responsible for the teams at 18 branches worldwide.

  • Between 2019 and 2023, he will be working as HR Director for several international groups in the digital healthcare (Dedalus), telecoms (TCL) and cosmetics (Aptar) sectors.

  • Frédéric Durand decided to take a year's training in coaching at the HEC business school, in order to better manage situations in the fast-changing world of work. He then obtained the title of Executive Coach, and naturally set up his own company in 2019: La Coaching Agency. In particular, it aims to support the transformation of companies through a range of workshops and different methods of which he is a graduate (Process Com, NLP, co-development).

Frédéric Durand's appointment as Director of Human Resources is therefore an important decision and an asset for Institut Pasteur to help us preserve the richness of our collective, unleash everyone's creativity and develop links on the campus.

Institut Pasteur delighted to be able to count on his leading expertise in France and abroad, as well as his enthusiasm and commitment.
