The next "Start-up breakfast" will take place on Tuesday October 6th at 8.30am. It will be held in the meeting room of "The 25" (within the limits of the current workforce authorized by the PBRP) and via Teams (the link will be communicated to registered participants). The session will be hosted by Vanessa Malier.
Vanessa graduated in Biology at Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, and in Immunology at Institut Pasteur. She is a managing partner of Kurma Partners since 2013. Kurma Partners is a significant player in the funding of healthcare and biotechnology in Europe. Vanessa began her career by joining the Paris based VC fund CDC Innovation as a venture analyst before joining a California based startup to be responsible for the business development activities. In 2003 she joined Ipsen as Strategic Advisor to the CEO and headed the portfolio management team for the gastro-enterology product range (totaling more than 130M€). Vanessa was appointed in 2005 as Product Manager and Team Leader for febuxostat (Adenuric®), which received EMA approval in 2008. Vanessa was then successively appointed as Senior Director, Business Development Oncology in 2009, and Vice president, R&D strategic planning at Ipsen, heading project and portfolio management, as well as R&D outsourcing in 2011. She is responsible for the investment in Xeltis (Switzerland), Asceneuron (Switzerland), Step Pharma (France), and Vivet (France).
Vanessa Malier will talk about her knowledge and experiences as a partner in the major venture capital company and a venture analyzer.
