Pasteur-Montparnasse neighborhood festival on Saturday November 27 from 2pm

Every autumn, the neighborhoods in Paris' 15th arrondissement organize a festive event for their residents. After the cancellation of last year's festivities because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the districts are gearing up to put on a show again this year – and the Pasteur-Montparnasse neighborhood is no exception. The local council will be organizing a festive event, open to everyone, on Saturday November 27, 2021, from 2 to 4.30pm on the new esplanade at the exit to the Pasteur metro station, on the central section of Boulevard Pasteur.

The theme of this event, held under the patronage of the mayor of the 15th arrondissement, Philippe Goujon, will be "Louis Pasteur and the Spirit of Montparnasse." There will be a wide range of activities and entertainment, including a band, a storyteller and balloon sculptor and a presentation ceremony for the Aeronautics Initiation Certificate (BIA). The event will draw to a close at 4.30pm with the official launch of the transformation project for Boulevard Pasteur and Boulevard Vaugirard and the switching on of the Christmas lights by the mayor.

The Institut Pasteur will be in attendance for this event, along with other local stakeholders that play a key role in the Pasteur-Montparnasse neighborhood: VILLA M, local shopkeepers, the artists, sculptors and painters of Montparnasse, high schools including Lycée Fresnel, the Musée de la Poste, etc. For this event which aims to celebrate local spirit and the community-minded work of local groups and organizations, Nathalie Denoyés, an elected representative for the district, will represent the Institut Pasteur as Vice-President Technical Resources and Environment.

Institut Pasteur staff who live in the neighborhood or are interested in finding out more are warmly invited to come along and join in the festivities on November 27.
