Upcoming "Start-up breakfast" session on June 14

The next Start-up breakfast will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at 11:00 AM via Microsoft Teams with Dr.Cheikh Tidiane Diagne as guest.

Dr.Cheikh Tidiane Diagne is an Head of Operations, DIATROPIX and Research Scientist of Institut Pasteur of Dakar.

Cheikh studied Structural and Functional Biology at Toulouse III - Paul Sabatier University from undergraduate to his Ph.D. study. After receiving his PhD in 2013, he worked at Commissariat à l’énergie atomique et aux énergies alternatives (CEA), Grenoble, France as a Post-doc for 2 years.

In 2016, Cheikh joined Institut Pasteur of Dakar, Senegal as a research scientist. To improve access to the diagnosis of epidemic and neglected diseases in Senegal and Africa, the Institut Pasteur of Dakar created the Diatropix initiative on  November 16th, 2020. It is the first non-profit platform for manufacturing the fully dedicated rapid diagnostic tests for epidemics with an economic model that makes them accessible at a cost price in African countries. Cheikh is now in charge of the Diatropix.

Last year, Cheikh won the best Medical Technology prize from the first Galien Africa Prize, which encourages research and innovation on the continent.
