Morning session at the Center for Translational Science on July 4

The Workshops at the Center for Translational Science are bimonthly two-hour events at which expert speakers are invited to give presentations suitable for both scientists and non-scientists on topical issues related to clinical research.

Each session has been followed by a round table featuring a number of other guests in addition to the main speaker, who are invited to share their experiences on the topic under discussion.

The next session will take place on Tuesday July 4 from 9.30 to 11.30am in the François Jacob auditorium, on the subject "Mathematical modeling of infectious diseases and research in public". This session will be jointly led by Simon Cauchemez and Henrik Salje from the Mathematical Modeling of Infectious Diseases Unit.

Research in mathematical modeling offers new prospects for our understanding of biological systems and can notably be used to guide public health policies in response to outbreaks. This expertise complements the skilled knowledge of field epidemiologists, scientists and decision-makers. How can research into the spatial distribution of infectious diseases lead to changes in health policies?
