First WHO high-level meeting to defeat meningitis, at the Institut Pasteur on April 26

The World Health Organization's first high-level meeting to defeat meningitis, hosted by the French government, will be held at the Institut Pasteur, under the high patronage of the French President, on April 26, from 10am to 5pm in the CIS auditorium.

The meeting is a call to action to strengthen commitments with the aim of overcoming meningitis, in line with the resolution adopted at the 73rd session of the World Health Assembly approving the global road map on defeating meningitis by 2030.

The event will feature two main parts and will be followed by a cocktail reception. The morning session, from 10am to 12 noon, will be a scientific conference introduced by Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur. This will be followed by a high-level engagement session from 1.30 to 3pm, opened by WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and the French Minister for Employment, Health and Solidarity, Catherine Vautrin. The momentum and dynamic generated by this event will be beneficial to the major high-level meetings that will take place in the coming months with the aim of tackling this severe disease, which has considerable short- and long-term consequences in terms of the burden for healthcare systems worldwide.

The event is open to all Institut Pasteur staff members. It will be held in the CIS auditorium. We hope that you will be able to come along at 10am.

The event will also be streamed live.

To follow the event remotely, there will be a live stream on this page
