Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
In 2012, a study on the resistance of fleas to insecticides was conducted in six detention centers across Madagascar. The fleas were collected on rats and their sensitivity to 12 insecticides was tested at the Laboratory of Medical Entomology of the Institut Pasteur de Madagascar. This study led to the conclusion that plague vectors collected from Antanimora prison (in the capital) are no longer sensitive to any insecticide; while those in other prisons are moderately sensitive to five insecticides.
