5 institutes, 1 voice: standing together for Inclusive Science

For the second consecutive year, the Institut Pasteur officially participated in the Paris Pride March. This year, the event took on a new dimension: five major research institutes—the Institut Curie, Institut Imagine, Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Institut Cochin, and Institut Pasteur—joined forces under a common slogan: “5 institutes, 1 voice: standing together for Inclusive Science.”

This initiative is not just a symbolic gesture. In an international context where LGBTQIA+ rights are being challenged, even where they seemed established, making commitments public is a strong and visible act. Indeed, publications related to the Institut Pasteur's participation in the Pride March are among the 5% most viewed content on its social networks.

In terms of internal visibility, 450 T-shirts were ordered by Pasteurians, and more than 400 neck warmers and pins were sold in less than 36 hours. This enthusiasm is crucial for the visibility of the campus' commitment and solidarity on issues of LGBTQIA+ inclusion. Pride Month was also accompanied by a series of seminars on campus, organized by the Pasteur Queer Club and the DEI Events group.

All of these actions serve as a reminder that a respectful, inclusive, and safe work environment for everyone is essential to advancing science for the benefit of all.
