Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
After eight years of commitment to Institut Pasteur, François Romaneix, Senior Executive Vice-President, will be leaving the Institut Pasteur on July 31, 2025. In accordance with the articles of association, the Board of Governors terminated his duties at its meeting on April 9, 2025 by mutual agreement with him.
A selection process has been put in place to recruit François Romaneix's successor in the coming weeks. This person will play an essential role, alongside the President and the Scientific Affairs Department, in the deployment of the strategic plan in all its dimensions.
"My departure comes after eight years of unwavering commitment to the institution. It has been an intense experience, during which I have had the opportunity to lead projects that have shaped the Institute's future, and to work through a major health crisis. I still have a deep respect and attachment for the institution. I would like to extend my warmest thanks to the teams with whom I have had the honour and pleasure of working. My thoughts go out to Christian Bréchot and Stewart Cole, our two previous Presidents, and to Christian Vigouroux, former Chairman of the Board of Governors. I would also like to thank Yves Saint-Geours and Yasmine Belkaid for the trust they have placed in me", said François Romaneix, Senior Executive Vice-President of the Institut Pasteur.
"Since taking up my post as Chairman of the Board of Governors, I have been able to assess François Romaneix's professional and human qualities, as well as the value of his contribution to the institute's strategy and operations. I would also like to thank him in particular for his initiative and his help in leading the demanding project launched at the beginning of the year around the economic model", added Yves Saint-Geours, Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Institut Pasteur.
"Over the past eight years, François Romaneix has carried out high-quality work for the Institut Pasteur. During our 18 months together, I have been impressed by his knowledge of the campus in all its dimensions (its history, its staff, its strategic challenges) and by his dedication to serving it. I salute his initiative in thinking up and bringing to fruition major projects that will shape the future of our institution, and which today resonate particularly with the priorities of the strategic plan: health and climate, vaccinology, science and society", concluded Yasmine Belkaid, President of the Institut Pasteur.
A special event will be organised in September to thank François Romaneix and wish him all the best for the future.
