Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Qbio, the Institut Pasteur's quantitative biology program, was launched in 2016 to facilitate research and education at the interface of biology and physics.
The main objectives of this program are to promote interactions on campus between scientists involved in quantitative biology, to inspire scientists trained in physics to investigate biology-related issues, and to encourage biologists to incorporate quantitative models in their research. Quantitative biology is a burgeoning field, and one of its major aims is to improve understanding of the principles underlying complex biological behavior in terms of physical and mathematical models.
A further symposium is being held on Friday May 25 as part of ongoing efforts to support the development of a quantitative approach. This event, entitled "Physical aspects in membrane biology", will take place in the François Jacob auditorium from 10am to 5.30pm.
The aim of the Qbio symposium is to encourage interactions between scientists from the Institut Pasteur, Institut Curie and universities from Paris who share an interest in organization and fonction of cellular membranes and lipids in human cell.
The event is free but prior registration is required.
