Pasteurdon is the Institut Pasteur's major annual fundraising campaign. Every year, short films and radio messages are broadcast to raise awareness among the public of the research carried out at the Institut Pasteur and to encourage people to give. This year's campaign, which will take place from October 10 to 14, 2018, once again reflects the unwavering commitment of Institut Pasteur staff, the buzz created by loyal media partners, the support of partner companies and foundations and the invaluable presence of our devoted Pasteurdon patron.
Since the very first Pasteurdon 12 years ago, the campaign has enjoyed increasing support every year from its committed media partners. In 2018, 39 media outlets (24 TV channels and 15 radio stations) will be joining forces to broadcast short films and radio spots appealing to the public's generosity so that the Institut Pasteur can pursue its research. Several partner companies and foundations also get involved each year to broaden the impact of the campaign. The loyal patron Alexandra Lamy, a tireless supporter of the cause, meets the Institut Pasteur's scientists and finds out more about their work.
Each year, the money raised during Pasteurdon helps to fund the work of researchers. In 2017, following the campaign, the general public, gave an impressive €1.9 million to support the Institut Pasteur's scientists.
