Several of you came along on Wednesday to the launch event for the 12th Pasteurdon to find out all about this year's edition of the annual Institut Pasteur campaign to raise awareness and funds. The event reflected just how much support there is for the Institut Pasteur's research. The 12th edition of Pasteurdon officially got under way with opening addresses by Stewart Cole, President of the Institut Pasteur, Jean-François Chambon, Vice-President Communications and Fundraising, and Erik Orsenna, Ambassador for the Institut Pasteur.
A team of researchers at the University of Cambridge, The Netherlands Cancer Institute and the Institut Pasteur has identified a protein complex that might explain why some cancer patients treated with the revolutionary new anti-cancer drugs known as PARP inhibitors develop resistance to their medication.

Last July, the Institut Pasteur in Camboadia have opened to patients, in collaboration with the Provincial Health Department of Battambang, a Rabies Prevention Center, that provides better access to vaccination after a dog bite, for the population living in North-West region of Cambodia.
The annual intercultural seminar on the topic "Settling and Living in France" will take place on Thursday November 8 from 1.30 to 4.30pm at the cafeteria in The 25. Don't forget to note the date in your diaries! This seminar (in English) is particularly geared towards newcomers arriving at the Institut Pasteur from abroad, but it is also open to all staff on campus and may be of special interest to those who work in a multicultural environment. On October 6, the District Hall of the 15th arrondissement and the Institut Pasteur invited visitors to an evening outing for the 2018 edition of the "Nuit Blanche" night-time event in Paris. An impressive 614 visitors came along for a unique glimpse into the daily life of the father of modern biology with a visit to the apartment belonging to Louis and Marie Pasteur, which has been preserved as it would have been at the time.
