Report on the staff meeting about the draft 2019-2023 strategic plan on November 22

To give Institut Pasteur staff the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the draft 2019-2023 strategic plan and share their views, the Institut Pasteur senior management held a presentation and information session for all staff on November 22.

At this meeting, the timetable and arrangements for the draft 2019-2023 strategic plan were outlined and the various priority areas were presented. The aim is to help the Institut Pasteur achieve a clearly stated ambition: "to give new impetus to basic research and increase the impact of this research on health challenges".

After a general introduction, Stewart Cole outlined the priorities of the strategic plan and the three priority scientific areas. These will be underpinned by responsible, transparent research in an appropriate technological environment. Education will be a means to achieve the aims of the scientific strategy. The international dimension of the 2019-2023 strategic plan focuses on consolidating the role of the Institut Pasteur International Network as a key operator in the field of health. The staff meeting was also an opportunity to present the budgetary outlook and real estate issues for the Paris campus. Finally, in relation with efforts to develop and support human resources, the last part of the session looked at how we can "work more effectively together and empower each and every individual, with the aim of fostering an attractive working environment".
