Laure Bally-Cuif receives the 2019 François Jacob Award

In accordance with the wishes of François Jacob, an award in his name was set up in 2011 to encourage the Institut Pasteur's research.

The first prize-giving ceremony for the award took place the same year, in 2011, at the conference to mark the 50th anniversary of the discovery of the operon, a major breakthrough for which François Jacob received the Nobel Prize in Medicine and Physiology in 1965, with his colleagues André Lwoff and Jacques Monod.

The Institut Pasteur Scientific Council has decided to give the 2019 François Jacob Award to Laure Bally-Cuif, Head of the Zebrafish Neurogenetics Unit, in recognition of her entire body of research.
