Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The European Academy of Microbiology (EAM), led by Prof. Philippe Sansonetti, is an initiative of the Federation of European Microbiological Societies (FEMS). Its mission is to promote excellence in microbiology in Europe through targeted programs and activities. Members of the academy are elected through a highly selective, peer-reviewed process, based on their records of scientific achievement and original contributions that have advanced microbiology.
The EAM has approximately a
hundred members, including nine from the Institut Pasteur.
This year, Carmen Buchrieser, Head of the Biology of Intracellular Bacteria Unit, and Patrice Courvalin have been appointed as new members and will be joining the Academy.
