Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
This year's annual appraisals and career development reviews have just begun and will run until September 30, 2016. Career development is a key part of the Institut Pasteur strategic plan. Accordingly, and after consulting the staff representative bodies, it was decided to open up the appraisal system to all Institut Pasteur employees with implementation via digital appraisal tools as part of a new online solution: the Career Portal.
All Institut Pasteur employees are now concerned by the annual appraisals and career development reviews, except for those on fixed-term contracts of less than 6 months, PhD students and contract workers, as well as post-doctoral fellows for 2016.
The appraisal system now involves
• the annual appraisal, a valuable opportunity for discussion between employees and managers aimed at reviewing the past year and planning the objectives and training required for the coming year;
• and additionally, a career development review, as required by law, aimed at discussing career development and goals in the short and medium term.
To account for the specific nature and pace of scientific assessment, employees in the research and research engineering sectors who are assessed by the COMESP will have a specially adapted annual appraisal form via the new portal.
Access the Career Portal and online appraisal documents
In the annual appraisal document, you will find the same main sections as in the paper form. The main difference this year is that the form is now electronic, meaning that some fields can be automatically prefilled and linked with the activities and skills related to job profiles in the Jobs and Skills Guide (except for employees appraised by the COMESP, who have their own form which corresponds to their evaluation form).
Before your appraisal interview, you and your manager will each have to fill in part of the electronic form. This year, you will also have to copy and paste some information (including the goals set for 2015-2016) from the previous paper form.
After your interview, you and your manager will both add comments before the final, approved version of the form is saved in the portal.
Introductory sessions on how to use the forms and the portal will be held throughout the summer.
Practical guides and additional information are also available on the dedicated HR webcampus page for appraisals and career development reviews:
