Symposium " Spencer Shorte, Remembering a visionary mind ", on January 28, 2026
Almost a year ago, the bioimaging and core facility communities lost a pioneering figure, Spencer Shorte, whose influence was especially significant in the Institut Pasteur community. His dedication and contributions were particularly pivotal within the Cell Biology and Infection Department and the Technology Department.
Spencer's extraordinary career and distinctive personality have left an enduring impact, not only at the Institut Pasteur but also within the global scientific network. His visionary and humanitarian approach to science continues to inspire many.
To honor his legacy, the Cell Biology & Infection Department and the Technology Department organize a symposium on Wednesday January 28, 2026, at 1:30pm, in the Émile Duclaux Amphitheater.
This event will bring together scientists from around the world to share their perspectives on Spencer Shorte's lasting and continuous influence on scientific research.
We look forward to seeing many of you there to share in this warm moment together which will be followed by cocktail reception in the atrium of the François Jacob building.
