Biographies of the speakers:

Elisa Caberlotto

Elisa Caberlotto, originally from Italy, came to France in 2007 after completing her Master's degree in Fundamental Physics to pursue a PhD at the Pasteur Institute on the mechanoelectrical transduction of the inner ear. After obtaining her doctorate in 2011, she joined L'Oréal as a research engineer in the Department of Instrumental Cosmetics. Today, she is a group leader in Advanced Research, working with her teams on the mechanical and structural properties of hair fibers.

Luc Aguilar

Luc Aguilar gathers more than 25 years of experience in the biotech, pharmaceutical and cosmetic Industry. He gathers expertise in industrial biotech, skin cell and tissue engineering, and clinical trials for cosmetics, MD and drugs. He joined L’Oréal 12 years ago to build the biotechnology Department in Advanced Research to develop nature-based ingredients. He is currently leading globally Research on Skin Microbiome and Exposome Domains in Advanced Research of L’Oréal R&I.
Luc Aguilar has a MS degree in biotechnology from INSA Toulouse and a PhD degree in Molecular Biology from Sorbonne University, UPMC, Paris.

Emilie Warrick

After obtaining an engineering degree from ESPCI (Physics-Chemistry) and a Master's degree in oncology, Emilie pursued a PhD in cell biology, during which she worked on a gene therapy approach for patients with Xeroderma Pigmentosum. The skills in photobiology and tissue reconstruction acquired during this experience allowed her to join L'Oréal's Advanced Research laboratories to work on understanding the biological mechanisms leading to the formation of pigmentation spots. Emilie is now responsible for a biological evaluation laboratory for applications in Photoprotection and Skin Tone Modulation.

Anthony Woo

After obtaining his Bachelor's degree in biochemistry, Anthony pursued a PhD in microbial ecology, a skill that allowed him to join INSERM and later the Pasteur Institute as a postdoctoral researcher. He was then recruited as a research engineer specializing in genomics at Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle before joining L'Oréal as a microbiome scientist

Keep an eye out for further updates and exciting developments as we embark on this fantastic journey together!

The collaboration with L'Oréal will offer a number of exciting possibilities:

-    Visits to L'Oréal laboratories

-    Compilation of a dedicated CV library for Institut Pasteur alumni aimed at L'Oréal recruiters
