A look back on the Institut Pasteur’s Nanopore Day March 11, 2024

On March 11, the Institut Pasteur hosted its very first symposium dedicated to the latest developments and applications of the cutting-edge sequencing technology Oxford Nanopore (ONT).

The day was first conceived to bring together Pasteurians already using ONT for their research, who are part of an interdisciplinary and collaborative group of ONT users which currently counts 45 members from 7 departments and platforms, to share their experience with ONT and their field of application.

The event was also opened to other IP scientists curious about the technology, to some external attendees from other scientific institutions (e.g., ANSES, IAME, Sorbonne University, ENS, INSERM, CNRS) and it was streamed live on Teams to be accessible to colleagues from the Pasteur Network.

The scientific program was rich and included internal and external speakers from different backgrounds and with various expertise, from real-time DNA to RNA sequencing, virology, bacteriology and mycology, to bioinformatics.
