Institut Pasteur de Guinée: monitoring the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 variants during the COVID-19 epidemic using its biobank
A letter published in the journal Emerging infectious diseases describes how SARS-CoV-2 variants were monitored during the COVID-19 epidemic in Guinea using the biobank established by the Institut Pasteur de Guinée. The monitoring took place from mid-March 2020 (when the first case was detected in Guinea) to July 2021 (when the Delta variant was prevalent). Sequencing was performed in collaboration with the Institut Pasteur de Dakar, which sequenced samples in connection with the REPAIR and AFROSCREEN projects.
