Symposium on "Open Source Microscopy" on July 8 at the Institut Pasteur

The Open Neuroscience consortium, in partnership with the Institut Pasteur and the University of Sussex, will be holding a symposium on Open Source Microscopy on the Institut Pasteur campus on July 8.

Originally planned as a satellite event for the FENS Forum 2022 in Paris (Europe's largest neuroscience conference), the event is open to all and the decision was made to concentrate on microscopy so that it could be broadened to all biological disciplines rather than being specific to neuroscience.

The all-day event will explore the impact of open microscopy on research and education as well as accessibility to the latest developments in microscopy for institutions in emerging countries.

•    The morning will feature a series of workshops with experts in the field presenting their systems and giving participants the opportunity to get to grips with them.

•    The afternoon will include a series of talks about open source microscopy. Prestigious speakers at all career stages, including a Nobel laureate, will be given the opportunity to present their open source microscopy projects and promote the open science practices that are so fundamental to research principles.
