CORONAVIRUS

Take part in the Curie-O-SA project to improve understanding of immune responses to SARS-CoV-2

The Institut Pasteur is joining forces with the Institut Curie for the Curie-O-SA project aimed at investigating the immune response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus in hospital and non-hospital staff, whether infected or not by the SARS-CoV-2 virus since January 2020.
The study has already begun at the Institut Curie, which has recruited 1,500 individuals from its staff since early May.

The Institut Pasteur will be taking part in the study in two ways: by contributing to sample analysis and also by becoming a trial site, meaning that Institut Pasteur staff can also be recruited to the study.
More specifically, in scientific terms, the Institut Pasteur will analyze blood samples and nasopharyngeal swabs to investigate the seroprevalence and persistence of the systemic humoral response (Thierry Rose) and to search for antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 in the nasal mucosa (James Di Santo and Darragh Duffy).

The study is due to begin at the Institut Pasteur in early July. It will mainly take place at the Institut Pasteur Medical Center and at the ICAReB platform for Medical Center staff. Individuals working on campus may take part in the study on a voluntary basis. They will be required to give three blood samples and three nasopharyngeal swabs over a period of six months. All measures will be taken to guarantee the confidentiality of those wishing to take part in this research on a voluntary basis.
