Upcoming training: data management plans and data repository
• Remote training: Drawing up a data management plan for a research project, Thursday November 6, 2025 from 2 to 5pm* (in English)
Do you need to draft a Data Management Plan (DMP) for your project without actually knowing what one is? Have you found yourself wondering how a DMP might be useful for you? Or have you had difficulties answering the questions you need to cover in a DMP?
This session is for you!
The CeRIS can help you understand how to produce a DMP, a document often required by funding bodies such as the ANR and the European Commission, which describes the data involved in a project and how it will be managed throughout its life cycle. You will learn how to use the tool DMP OPIDoR to produce your DMP collaboratively. And you can find out how the DMP can be useful in helping you improve your research project.
Aims of the training:
• Understand the questions that you need to address in a DMP
• Learn how to use the DMP OPIDoR tool to produce your DMP
• Be able to use the DMP as a tool to improve your project
The training session is aimed at scientists, engineers, postdoctoral fellows and project managers who may need to produce a DMP for their research project.
It will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in English.

• Remote training – Choosing a data repository to share and improve the visibility of your research data, Wednesday November 19, 2025, 2 to 4pm and Wednesday November 26, 2025, 2 to 3.30pm* (in French)
Do you want to publish the raw data related to a research paper? Do you want to make your data available to the scientific community to improve the reproducibility of your research?
Data repositories are the most efficient solution to meet your needs! They are a way for you to share your data with a wider community, either making it freely available or controlling access to your files.
Whether you have large volumes of data, can only share your data under certain conditions, or have "composite" data (a combination of code and data in different formats), there is a repository out there that will meet your needs. And there's nothing better than a training course to help you find your way around the many repositories out there!
The course will help you to:
- Choose the most suitable repository to share your data;
- Use repositories in your research, either to share or find data;
- Draw up a comparative list of different repositories.
Combining theory and practice, the training course takes place over two sessions. Between the sessions you will have the opportunity to analyze and test a repository and to ask the trainer any questions via Teams.
The training will take place remotely (via Microsoft Teams) in French.
Before you sign up: make sure you will be able to take part in both sessions.
