Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Information Systems Department would like to inform you of a change to the mechanism in the email system that enables you to check any external emails considered by the current filtering system as spam but which may have been wrongly classified (“false positives”).
Blocking spam is part of a broader strategy to protect emails and guarantee the continued operation of the email service.
Spam currently represents some 48% of all email traffic. And these numerous unwanted messages are not just a minor irritation. They have a negative impact on productivity, they can conceal more important messages and they affect network performance by increasing traffic through mail servers. To give a clearer idea of the scale of the problem, in 2019 our current system blocked up to 177 million spam emails for a total of 5 million emails delivered.
You can look forward to a new, more user-friendly interface with more features.
You will still receive the "Spam Quarantine Notification" email with a table listing all the messages considered as spam, but you will now also have the option of:
- Releasing the message
- Authorizing the sender
- Blocking the sender
