Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
For the 14th edition of Pasteurdon, the Institut Pasteur's social media accounts will not only be promoting the campaign encouraging people to use the hashtag #PutOnYourLabCoat; they will also be hosting a series of great activities to give everyone the chance to come together online and experience the magic of Pasteurdon!
As in previous years, the Institut Pasteur's Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and Instagram pages will report all the latest Pasteurdon news, relaying any media appearances by the Institut Pasteur's scientists and featuring the photos, spots, videos and short films produced specially for Pasteurdon.
They will also promote the hashtag #PutOnYourLabCoat. The lab coat, which has come to symbolize the Institut Pasteur's research and the Pasteurdon campaign, will play a central role in this year's appeal. You can show your support for scientists in your stories and profile photos with a special #PutOnYourLabCoat filter developed for the occasion and some great Pasteurdon GIFs.
This year, the Institut Pasteur's social media accounts will feature a series of short films produced with the participation of Alexandra Lamy. The Pasteurdon patron sat down for a chat with three scientists – Michaela Muller-Trutwin, Anna-Bella Failloux and Arnaud Fontanet – to find out more about their work and the latest news and prospects regarding their respective research on HIV, mosquitoes and the COVID-19 epidemic. These exclusive one-to-one interviews offer an insight into some highly topical public health issues.
The Institut Pasteur's social media pages will also promote what is a brand new format for this year's edition – a series of five scientific podcasts. Produced and recorded specially for the occasion by Radio France and presented by journalist Mathieu Vidard, host of "La Terre au carré" on France Inter, these podcasts will be available for anyone to listen to. They feature interviews between the journalist and pairs of Institut Pasteur scientists on five topics:
Emerging infectious diseases and new outbreaks, with Arnaud Fontanet and Sylvie van der Werf
Antibiotic resistance, with Philippe Glaser and Paola Arimondo
Brain disorders, with a focus on the COVID-19 context, with Pierre-Marie Lledo and Laure Bally-Cuif
The Institut Pasteur and its role as a sentinel for public health surveillance, with Christophe d'Enfert and Francois-Xavier Weill
Cancer, with Sandrine Etienne-Manneville and Ludovic Deriano
Finally, on October 5 we will be launching yet another new initiative by giving you the chance to take part in the first ever e-mosaic. Participants can take and send a photo of themselves and it will be instantly incorporated into a digital mosaic of faces, creating a powerful symbol of support for the campaign. Every time someone adds a photo the mosaic will be updated in real time. Each participant will then receive a mini video containing their photo that they can share via social media. Add your face to the e-mosaic and help illuminate the Pasteurdon campaign with your smile!
So make sure you check out the Institut Pasteur's social media accounts from October 5, and throughout Pasteurdon weekend, to experience a whole new virtual, "social" side to Pasteurdon!
If you haven't already done so, this is the perfect time to subscribe, like and share the Institut Pasteur's pages!
