Publication of issue 129-130 of the "Lettre de l'Institut Pasteur": "Antimicrobial resistance: Curbing the health threat"
The latest issue of the quarterly newsletter for Institut Pasteur donors – the "Lettre de l'Institut Pasteur" (LIP) – contains a special report on antimicrobial resistance.
Antimicrobial resistance is now a major public health problem. The growing number of antibiotics that are no longer effective shows how alarming the challenge has become. More than ever, a coordinated global approach is needed to design, test and implement therapeutic alternatives that can provide safe and lasting treatments for infectious diseases. Understanding antimicrobial resistance means shining a light on the complexity of pathogens and tackling one of the greatest threats to global health.
