SPARK, PERL and P2T: check out the results of the first edition of incentive programs under the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan

In April 2025, via the Department for Scientific Programming and Incentive Actions (SPAIS) the senior management team and Scientific Affairs Division launched the 2025 edition of the Institut Pasteur's incentive programs under the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan: Seeded Partnerships for Advancing Research & Knowledge (SPARK), Pasteur Excellence in Research & Leadership Program (PERL) and Pasteur Technology Training Program (P2T).
The aim of this new edition is to strengthen the impact of the Institut Pasteur's incentive programs. The PERL and SPARK programs prioritize highly innovative, disruptive and interdisciplinary projects, while also encouraging the development of talent and links with the Pasteur Network, especially with low- and middle-income countries. Particular emphasis has also been given to projects using cutting-edge technology and AI. The P2T scheme is intended to support the development of technological expertise among the Institut Pasteur community, with three key objectives: to acquire state-of-the-art skills and methods at the international level, integrate and implement this expertise on campus, and strengthen collaboration with leading institutions.
Project proposals had to be in line with one or more priorities in the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan. Particular attention was also given to "out-of-the-box" projects – high-risk and high-potential projects that do not necessarily fall within the four priorities in the Strategic Plan.
For 2025, preference was given to projects with a focus on sustainability, talent development, entrepreneurship, community engagement, and diversity, equity and inclusion. The results of the SPARK, PERL and P2T programs are available now. Check out the winning proposals.
