Tackling littering – managing waste and keeping the areas around buildings clean
The Waste Management and Recycling Department has recently observed a rise in litter and waste around and on the basement floors of some buildings on campus.

To maintain a pleasant working environment for everyone on campus, the department would like to remind staff that there are several solutions for disposing of waste appropriately:
- Furniture, equipment, crates or bulky waste: please contact the General Services Department in the Real Estate and Technical Department (submit a service request) to organize for the waste to be taken away and disposed of in the dedicated skip, if appropriate.
- Polystyrene containers: they must be placed next to the carts for cardboard waste found on every floor of the buildings on campus, so that they can be disposed of by cleaning staff.
- Everyday waste: suitable waste bins can be found all over campus (660L containers).
- Biological and chemical waste: this must be disposed of at the waste points in buildings on campus so that it can be dealt with by the environment team in the Waste Management and Recycling Department.
Your cooperation is essential to keep our shared spaces clean. The teams in the Waste Management and Recycling Department are counting on you to comply with these guidelines and contribute to a clean and orderly working environment.
