• Lettres à Loulou, dit Pasteur ("Letters to Loulou, AKA Pasteur"), a delightfully original portrait of the famous scientist
This volume contains 23 letters written to Louis Pasteur by our contemporaries: women, men, scientists, non-scientists, historians, philosophers, physicians and teachers. All of them have come across Louis Pasteur at some point in their lives, always for a good reason, and they wanted to write to him.
The aim of the book is to present Louis Pasteur, his life and achievements from multiple new angles, shining a different light on a well-known figure. The letters that the authors wanted to send to Louis Pasteur offer images that go beyond well-worn conventions and clichés. The letter format and the distance in time brings Louis Pasteur back into contact with human and non-human figures, offering an imagined mirror for the real and spiritual encounters that he made in his lifetime.
Letter authors: Ange Ansour, Philippe Bruniaux, Serge Chaumier, Pascale Cossart, Patrice Debré, Mijo Demouron, Agnès Desquand, Henri Duboc, Marc Gallavardin, Lorraine Joly, Arnaud Laster & Danièle Gasiglia-Laster, Alain Marchal, Christine Moissinac, Jean Mochon, Jean-Patrick Mulon, Alban Orsini, Luc Perino, Annick Perrot, Jean-Philippe Pierron, Daniel Raichvarg, Philippe Sansonetti, Maxime Schwartz, Dominique Simon, Hervé This, Dominique Angèle Vuitton.
• L'Ara de Rosa ("Rosa's Parrot"), a comic book for children (aged 6 and over)
The Château de Rosa Bonheur is overcome by panic! The cleaner has come down with a mysterious illness. To identify the cause of this unknown disease, Louis Pasteur heads to the château and investigates all the people and animals she has been in contact with – some of whom have come from far afield. A new L'Ara de Rosa adventure, available in bookshops since the beginning of the year, which explores our fears of epidemics and their animal origins in an information-packed yet light-hearted way.
Several other books will be added to the collection over the coming months, including in May: Pasteur à la plage: Le monde des microbes dans un transat ("Pasteur at the beach: the microbial universe in a deckchair"), a book for the general public by Annick Perrot and Maxime Schwartz.
