Allostery and brain science, a tribute to Jean-Pierre Changeux on November 9 and 10, 2026
The Department of Neuroscience is organizing a symposium in honor of Jean-Pierre Changeux on November 9 and 10, 2026. The event will take place in the Duclaux lecture hall.
Professor Jean-Pierre Changeux is internationally recognized for his exceptional scientific achievements and leadership in the field of neuroscience and especially for his pioneering contributions to the understanding of neuroreceptors over the past 50 years.
Professor Changeux’s breakthrough discovery of the acetylcholine receptor as a model membrane receptor was groundbreaking because it has proven to be one of the most central regulatory mechanisms in biology.
From molecular allosteric mechanisms to brain sciences and consciousness, Jean-Pierre Changeux is a pioneer in the fields of neuroscience and integrative biology with his fundamental discoveries and theoretical models.
This two days symposium will gather renowned scientists, including some of his former trainees and friends, to present the latest advances in the field.
