reConnect Institute co-organizing the 59th International Neuro-otology Society Conference from May 28 to 30, 2026

On May 28 and 30, 2026, the audiology community will come together for the conference of the International Neuro-otology Society (Société Internationale d'Otoneurologie – SIO), set to be held in the CIS auditorium. This prestigious international event, led by Charlotte Hautefort, will be attended by 47 French-speaking and international experts to explore major progress in neuro-otology, vestibular disorders and the science of balance.

Clinicians and scientists from the ReConnect Institute will be closely involved, sharing their expertise and their efforts to accelerate research and innovation for the benefit of patients.

A key event for the neuro-otology community

The three days will include several themed sessions, presentations, practical workshops and interdisciplinary discussions, with the aim of advancing knowledge and improving the lives of patients living with vestibular and hearing disorders.

The reConnect Institute's scientists and clinicians will be moderating and presenting at several scientific sessions, including:

•    Moderation of the first morning by Alain Londéro, an ENT surgeon

-   "When the ear speaks to the brain: hearing and cognition" with Claire Paquet, a neurologist and Scientific Director of the reConnect Institute

-   "Functional ENT disorders: when clinical symptoms create diagnostic difficulties" with Charlotte Hautefort, an ENT physician specializing in dizziness/vertigo, balance problems, hearing loss and tinnitus, Michel Toupet, an ENT physician specializing in the exploration of dizziness/vertigo and balance problems in adults and children, Christian Van Nechel, a neurologist specializing in neuro-ophthalmology and neuro-otology, and Ulla Duquesne, an ENT physician and pathophysiologist.

•    Afternoon workshops on Thursday May 28:

-   "Multi-frequency tympanometry and Echodia: transformations in exploring vestibulocochlear disorders" with Paul Avan, Director of the Center for Research and Innovation in Human Audiology (CeRIAH), and Grégory Gerenton, a research engineer at CeRIAH

-   "Genetics and inner ear: who, what, why?" with Crystel Bonnet, a research engineer in the Auditory Therapies Innovation Lab.

The event will also be attended by several experts from major partner institutions, including the Paris Public Hospital Network (AP-HP), the Paris Vestibulaire center of excellence, the center of expertise in rare inner ear disorders – Vertico, the SensGène network, Fai2R, the Clinique de l'Oreille, Université Paris Cité, etc.
