Save the date – 2026 PhD graduation ceremony
Since 2013, the Institut Pasteur has celebrated its new graduates every year with a dedicated ceremony for PhD students who defended their thesis in science during the 2025-2026 academic year.
This formal yet friendly ceremony is an annual highlight for the Institut Pasteur's scientific community.
The 2026 ceremony will take place on Friday December 4, 2026 at 3pm in the CIS auditorium.
This year, the Institut Pasteur is delighted to welcome John M. Jumper, laureate of the 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his work on predicting protein structures using artificial intelligence, who is currently a scientist at Google DeepMind.
He will give a lecture during the ceremony as the guest of honor.
An opportunity to celebrate new graduates
The new graduates will receive their PhD certificate from the Institut Pasteur, and some will be invited to share their research experience through a short presentation.
The ceremony will also be attended by Institut Pasteur President Yasmine Belkaid, Monica Sala, Vice-President of the Education Department, Rebecca Grais, Executive Director of the Pasteur Network, and Cecilia Patitucci, Head of the International PhD Programs Office.
The ceremony will include musical interludes and will be followed by a buffet to which the graduates and their families, colleagues and members of the Institut Pasteur community are warmly invited.
All Institut Pasteur staff members are welcome to attend the ceremony. Registration is required.
You can also follow the ceremony online via Zoom
