Senate Symposium on Biomedical Research and Ways to Safeguard French Sovereignty, November 13, 2026
As part of our advocacy efforts for biomedical research ahead of the upcoming presidential elections, The Institut Pasteur, jointly with Gustave Roussy, the Paris Brain Institute, Institut Imagine and Institut Curie, in partnership with the Fondation pour la recherche médicale, are organising a symposium at the Senate dedicated to French biomedical research. Speeches from the directors of these institutes, particularly from Yasmine Belkaid, are planned.
This symposium will take place on 13 November 2026, from 10am to 6pm, at the Senate, Salle Clémenceau, under the high patronage of Mr Gérard Larcher, President of the Senate.
The event will bring together institute directors, researchers, economists, funders, industry representatives, innovation and technology transfer stakeholders, as well as members of parliament, for a discussion dedicated to the priorities of French biomedical research for the coming decade and the means of preserving French sovereignty in this field.
This gathering will offer a privileged forum for exchanging views on the strategic challenges currently facing our biomedical research ecosystem.
The symposium will be followed by a reception in the Salons de Boffrand.
Registrations will close this Monday, 9 November, at 4pm.
