Register for the new edition of the Viral hepatitis MOOC

The digital education office is pleased to invite you to sign up for the new edition of the "Viral hepatitis” MOOC, from May 10 to July 9, 2022, led by Françoise Lunel-Fabiani, Stanislas Pol and Dominique Franco.

Hepatitis is an acute or chronic inflammation of the liver. Viral Hepatitis are very common worldwide, mainly caused by five different viruses (Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E). Mortality is related mainly to chronicity leading to fibrosis, cirrhosis and liver cancer. This occurs mostly for hepatitis B, B-D and C, viruses transmitted by blood and reaching mainly drug users, inmates and men having sex with men. In this MOOC, you will find the latest developments on the intimate structure and pathophysiology of hepatic viruses, as well as the epidemiology and clinical courses of hepatitis.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:
•    Summarize the virology and pathophysiology of the five differents viruses
•    Describe the epidemiology and diseases progression leading sometimes to fibrosis and cancer
•    Define recent progresses in vaccines and efficient treatments
•    Explains why too few people have access to screening and treatments
•    Discuss how WHO expects to eradicate viral hepatitis by 2030
