Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Following the call for applications issued by the Institut Pasteur in December 2024 for the launch of new 5-year groups (G5s), more than 200 applications were submitted to address the four suggested topics in line with the Pasteur 2030 Strategic Plan:
• Vaccinology and immunotherapies,
• Infectious diseases, with a particular focus on antimicrobial resistance, medicinal chemistry and chemical biology,
• Neuroimmunology and neurodevelopment,
• Maternal and infant health (immunology, infection, pregnancy and development).
Twenty-four applications were shortlisted out of the huge number of submissions. Covering every topic, with 6 applications for each one, the 24 early career scientists selected were invited to present their research and future projects on the rue du docteur Roux campuses. This phase of the process gave rise to a symposium open to all on March 31 and April 1 in the Émile Duclaux lecture hall.
According to the recruitment calendar, following the auditions this week a second shortlist of 9 applicants will be auditioned by members of the Scientific Council during a board meeting in June which will make its recommendations to the management senior for final validation of the applicants at the beginning of the summer to enable the selected applicants to set up their groups within the best possible timeframes.
The Institut Pasteur management team will repeat this process every year to support the Strategic Plan and its scientific priorities.
