6th edition of the "Concepts and methods in epidemiology" MOOC: online registration now open

Launched for the first time in 2014 by Professor Arnaud Fontanet (Institut Pasteur/Cnam), the MOOC “Concepts and methods in Epidemiology” is now open on the FUN Platform.

Across 6 weeks, the MOOC is based around the key principles of descriptive and analytical epidemiology. It addresses risk indicators, formulation of scientific hypotheses, study design, population sampling, statistical analysis and evaluation of biases and confounding factors. Theoretical concepts are complemented by practical exercises and illustrations drawn from real-life situations. The course also covers the main principles of causality and the levels of proof required to show causality.

At the end of this MOOC, participants will be able to interpret scientific articles addressing these subjects, and will be prepared to pursue further learning in epidemiology and public health.

Participants will have the opportunity to get an authenticated and paid certificate if they successfully pass the final exam on the condition of enrolment with the Cnam.
