Pride Month 2026
For the third year in a row, the Institut Pasteur will be officially taking part in the Paris Pride March on Saturday June 27, alongside six other major Paris-based research and healthcare institutes: the Imagine Institute, the Institut Curie, the Institut Cochin, the Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers and the lnstitut de Recherche Saint-Louis.
At a time when the rights of LGBTQIA+ people are still being challenged, it is crucial that we remain true to our values of equity and inclusion. During Pride Month, the Institut Pasteur will reaffirm its commitment to a respectful, inclusive working environment where everyone is welcome, joining forces with other institutes that share the same values.
All staff are welcome to come and celebrate the Institut Pasteur's commitment to Pride!
Once again this year, all Institut Pasteur staff are welcome to take part in the Pride March and wear the colors of Pride Month. There will be special T-shirts with a single design for all participating institutes.
These T-shirts make a visible statement, confirming each institute's commitment to defending dignity, inclusion and safety for all their staff, every day. By wearing them, you become ambassadors for these shared values.
The T-shirts are available to order in limited numbers.
Please note that orders can be placed up to April 28 inclusive.
Lanyards will also be available during June at the two Institut Pasteur entrances.
Why march on June 27, 2026?
The academic and research sector, including the Institut Pasteur, is not immune to the societal challenges involved in creating an inclusive, safe working environment for everyone. We all have a part to play in improving the inclusivity of our workplaces, especially for the LGBTQIA+ community, which all too often is still the target of abuse and violence. Our official participation in the Pride March is not an end in itself; it is part of a series of initiatives introduced at the Institut Pasteur to promote an inclusive working environment. By participating in this symbolic event, the Institut Pasteur is sending the clear message that it is firmly opposed to all forms of discrimination and demonstrating its commitment to actively supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and making respect and inclusion a cornerstone of its scientific mission.
Let's work together to defend open, safe science!
The organizers would like to thank you for your continued commitment to living out these values on a daily basis.
