To mark the publication by Editions Fayard of his new book entitled Géopolitique du moustique ("The Geopolitics of the Mosquito"), Erik Orsenna will give a presentation alongside Anna-Bella Failloux in which he will describe his "Pasteurian journey" across the world and his encounters with scientists specializing in mosquito-borne diseases, who provided him with material and guidance for his book, due to come out on April 3. The writer and avid traveler drew on the scientific contributions and local knowledge of several institutes in the International Network, from French Guiana to Cambodia and Senegal, from Brazil to Beijing.

The event is open to all staff and will be introduced by Institut Pasteur President Christian Bréchot.

Copies of the book will be available to buy from 10.30am. The book costs €19, and you can pay in cash, by check or by debit/credit card.

A book signing session will also be held before the presentation, from 10.30 to 11.30am.

We hope that as many as possible will be able to come along to this one-off event.

To coincide with this event, a special report entitled "The Geopolitics of the Mosquito - Go further with our experts!" has been produced and published online at pasteur.fr. This is a great opportunity to learn about mosquitoes and the diseases they spread, known as "vector-borne diseases", with the expert guidance of Institut Pasteur scientists. The report also includes some extracts from Erik Orsenna's book.
