Appointment of Jennifer Heurley as the Institut Pasteur's Vice-President International Affairs

"I am pleased to announce that Jennifer Heurley has been appointed as the Institut Pasteur's Vice-President International Affairs as from May 2, 2022.

Jennifer Heurley initially pursued an academic career, completing a PhD in Political Geography in 2001 before joining the École normale supérieure and then Aix-Marseille University as a lecturer. In 2006, she was seconded to the French Foreign Ministry, where she dealt with research and higher education issues in the General Directorate of Globalization.

Since 2014, Jennifer has been Deputy Vice-President International Affairs at the Institut Pasteur and has supported the activities of the Institut Pasteur International Network, which became the Pasteur Network in July 2021 following a far-reaching reform that she spearheaded with the support of the senior management team and the involvement of the 33 member institutes in the network.

Given the rapid and deep-rooted changes in the global geopolitical landscape and the development of our international partnerships, including with the member institutes in the Pasteur Network, I have decided to appoint Jennifer Heurley to the position of Vice-President International Affairs.

With her political and diplomatic expertise, she will help boost the Institut Pasteur's visibility and international collaborations and will provide support for the Institut Pasteur's teams in France and worldwide.

Jennifer Heurley will report directly to me and will become a member of the Executive Board.

Rebecca Grais has been appointed Executive Director of the Pasteur Network and will take up this position on June 24, 2022. She will report to the Department of International Affairs and work for the Pasteur Network Foundation for half of her time, and she will spend the other half working for the Pasteur Network Association. This will help clarify the separation within the Department of International Affairs in its respective missions for the Institut Pasteur and the Pasteur Network.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Pierre-Marie Girard for his major contribution to the development of the Institut Pasteur's international activities and his constant support for the institutes in the International Network. Since Pierre-Marie's secondment agreement with the Institut Pasteur has now run its term, he will resume his responsibilities in the Paris Public Hospital Network (AP-HP).

Kind regards,"

Professor Stewart Cole
President
