CORONAVIRUS

Working to find therapeutic antibodies to treat COVID-19

The Institut Pasteur's Humoral Immunology laboratory is conducting research into antibodies capable of neutralizing the SARS-CoV-2 virus. To this end, the Inserm team led by Hugo Mouquet is planning to isolate memory B lymphocytes specific to the virus from the blood of patients in remission, then to use them to produce monoclonal antibodies that it will study on a case-by-case basis. With this method, the team hopes to rapidly identify monoclonal antibodies with therapeutic potential and contribute to the development of a vaccine.
