Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
Since March 15, in connection with the commemorations marking Louis Pasteur's bicentenary this year, the exhibition "The Pasteurian Spirit" has been open to visitors in the hall of the Émile Duclaux building. A second, traveling exhibition, entitled "1822-1895, from Louis to Pasteur," has now been launched as part of this broader cultural and commemorative initiative, with the aim of celebrating the bicentenary by sharing the knowledge, history and values of Louis Pasteur.
Focus on the exhibition "The Pasteurian Spirit" in the Émile Duclaux building
The exhibition is open to the public until the end of 2022. A series of display boards, illustrations, texts, photos, objects and portraits reveal the different facets of a mindset driven by three scientific, humanist ambitions:
- understanding the living world,
- improving health,
- passing on knowledge to future generations.
Alongside this contemporary, colorful exhibition, you can also leave your own Pasteurian mark at one of the special events organized for the occasion:
- learn more about the history of Pasteur's major discoveries with a touchscreen tablet
- contribute to the visitor book: take a sheet of paper, write down what the Pasteurian spirit and being a Pasteurian means to you, then add your paper to the book (voir pour montage les photos réalisées sur ce volet et dans le dossier dédié)
- embody the Pasteurian spirit as you pose for a photo with the Institut Pasteur's founder. Whether on your own or in a group, don't miss this opportunity to capture the moment!
So make sure you come along and check out the exhibition and related activities – and watch this space as the venue will soon be home to a further series of events designed to bring out the inner Pasteurian in each and every staff member!
Development and launch of the traveling exhibition "1822-1895, from Louis to Pasteur"
Alongside the exhibition hosted in the Émile Duclaux building, the Institut Pasteur and Pasteur Museum have designed a traveling exhibition about the life and work of Louis Pasteur, entitled "1822-1895, from Louis to Pasteur." Ten display boards present Louis Pasteur's major scientific achievements, some key information about his personal life and his scientific legacy.
Freely available and downloadable in various digital formats depending on the intended usage, this exhibition will travel the length and breadth of France to raise awareness among the general public of the life and work of the Institut Pasteur's founder. It will soon be installed in the main hall of the historical buildin. Come along and check it out!
The exhibition, developed by the communications team at the Institut Pasteur and the Pasteur Museum, was supported and endorsed by Louis Pasteur experts Sandra Legout, head of the heritage collection and contact person for historical archives at the Institut Pasteur, Erik Orsenna, member of the Académie Française and Ambassador of the Institut Pasteur and the Pasteur Network, Annick Perrot, honorary curator of the Pasteur Museum, and Maxime Schwartz, honorary President of the Institut Pasteur.
