Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Work, Operations & Maintenance Unit is pleased to announce that as from the third quarter of 2021, the campus will be fitted with smart locks. All premises, including all offices and laboratories, will now no longer be accessible with keys but with your Institut Pasteur badge, which will be configured in advance.
Smart locks are special locks containing a reader (see photo). You simply need to hold your Institut Pasteur badge over the reader to open or close the door of your office, laboratory or other room.
Each smart lock will be pre-programmed to authorize staff members to open and/or close specific rooms with their badge.
This new system does not replace access control procedures, and badges are still required to come onto campus and enter buildings. The long-term aim (by the end of 2021) is to replace all key locks in buildings, to improve security and building management.
From the beginning of this month and until the end of February 2021, an expert from the company Risk&Co will be drawing up an inventory of all locks on campus.
A note will be displayed in each building to inform staff when the expert will be coming but you do not need to be there in person.
The locks will be replaced and your badge will be configured from the third quarter of 2021.
The newsletter will keep you updated with additional information as this system is rolled out on campus.
