New campus measures as Vigipirate security system stepped up

Following Wednesday’s announcement by France's Interior Minister that the national Vigipirate security system is to be stepped up to the level Urgence attentat ("Attack emergency"), the Institut Pasteur management has introduced a number of measures:

  • The campus access point on rue Falguière has been closed

  • The entrance points at 23 and 26 rue du Docteur Roux have been closed to passenger vehicles

  • The security officer stationed at number 23 has been transferred to the entrance point at number 25

  • The security officer stationed at number 26 will now carry out regular patrols (public buildings and campus entrance points, including those that have been closed)

  • Any external visitors coming onto campus must systematically be accompanied by an Institut Pasteur staff member

  • Identity documents will be rigorously checked at campus entrance points (when handed back, additional checks will be carried out to make sure the ID document belongs to the visitor and no other documents are handed back with it)

  • Any bags, cases and briefcases belonging to visitors arriving on campus will be checked

Campus access is prohibited outside working hours (from 9pm to 7am Monday to Friday and all day on Saturday and Sunday) unless there is a specific reason and the Security Department has been informed in advance (via GAIP or at surete@pasteur.fr)
