On Friday December 9, the first ever prize-giving ceremony for the Pasteur iGEM team was held, in recognition of the achievements of the 19 students in the 2016 team who returned from Massachusetts with three trophies and a gold medal following the international Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition. For the second consecutive year the Institut Pasteur team excelled in this annual event, which promotes research in synthetic biology.
