Bulletin interne de l'Institut Pasteur
The Imagine university hospital institute (Inserm, AP-HP, Université de Paris), a designated Carnot institute, has been successful in the latest call for university hospital research proposals in the field of health (RHU5), launched in 2021 by the French National Research Agency (ANR) as part of the Investing in the Future program. The "COVIFERON" project, coordinated by Prof. Jean-Laurent Casanova, co-director with Laurent Abel of the Human Genetics of Infectious Diseases laboratory, will be carried out at the Imagine Institute, based at Necker-Enfants Malades Hospital (AP-HP), and The Rockefeller University in New York, in collaboration with private partners (Cerba HealthCare, bioMérieux and Quanterix) and academic partners (including the Institut Pasteur). The aim is to elucidate the genetic and immunological bases of the different clinical forms of COVID-19, to develop and distribute tests to evaluate the risks of developing a severe form, and to propose new preventive and therapeutic approaches.
