30 minutes to detect a monkeypox infection

The monkeypox virus (MPXV) is a neglected tropical pathogen that has been the focus of renewed research following a recent outbreak. In this context, scientists from the Pasteur Network have developed rapid diagnostic tests for MPXV that can be visualized with the naked eye in less than 30 minutes and are as accurate as the PCR-based nucleic acid test currently used to diagnose MPXV. This new diagnostic tool will contribute to controlling and preventing MPXV outbreaks.
