WHO High-Level Meeting on Preparedness for Public Health Emergencies

On December 4th, The Institut Pasteur International Network (IPIN) participated in a high-level meeting on preparedness in public health emergencies and the challenges and opportunities in urban areas organized by World Health Organization (WHO) in Lyon.

The objective of this conference was to identify gaps and challenges, to foster intersectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration (including a "one health" approach) and to encourage the implementation of WHO's strategic plan to improve preparedness and response to health crises, including strengthening the global network of national focal points of the International Health Regulations.

A declaration (WHO Lyon Conference Statement on Preparedness for Public Health Emergencies) to this effect has been signed by many international organizations and has been supported by a dozen IPIN members.
