EQUALITY

International Women's Rights Day: save the date for March 7!

As part of Equity Month and International Women's Rights Day, Institut Pasteur wishes to reaffirm its commitment to an inclusive and equitable working environment for all its employees. To mark the occasion, each and every one of you is invited to take part in the symposium “Scientific excellence: and if inclusion were the key” organized on March 7 by the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Department (DEI).

In collaboration with the L’Oréal Foundation, the DEI Department invites you on March 7, from 2pm, for an afternoon of talks and exchanges in the CIS auditorium. The theme of the day is “Scientific excellence: what if inclusion were the key?”, and it will highlight the importance of inclusivity and equity, particularly in terms of gender, to achieve scientific excellence.

Why is this day important for all of us?
Because gender equality is one of our commitments and has yet to be achieved in the scientific world1. Because inclusion and diversity are essential levers for progress and innovation. They enable us to respond better to scientific challenges, drawing on the talents and varied experience of our community: and this day offers us the opportunity to reflect on this together.

The afternoon will be divided into two parts:

1) Scientific excellence
The inspiring testimonies of 3 Pasteurian winners of the L’Oréal Foundation’s International Prize for Women in Science will illustrate how diversity and innovation contribute to the advancement of careers and knowledge.

2) Inclusion
By exploring the discrimination and structural resistance that hinder diversity, as well as solutions to promote a more equitable and effective scientific environment.

It will also be an opportunity to take a closer look at the links between diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and scientific excellence.
