The Institut Pasteur sports club runs 23 activities throughout the year, offering more than 30 hours of classes each week in two halls on campus and in nearby gyms and sports halls. Preferential rates have also been negotiated for squash and for the "Cercles de la Forme" Paris-based sports network.

Anyone signing up from February 1 onwards can enjoy a great reduced rate (just €50 for 17 hours of classes). There are still spaces for a wide range of activities, especially for Breton dancing, stretching (Thursdays), tai chi, karate, self defense, Vovinam, Yoga (Tuesdays) and Zumba.

The running group, led by Philippe Casanova and Mickael Guillot, is gearing up to take part in several races this spring (March 18-19: Paris Ecotrail; May 21: Paris-St-Germain-en-Laye 20km; June 4: L'Equipe 10km; June 24: Hauts-de-Seine marathon). Why not join them? Training runs take place every lunchtime from Tuesday to Friday.

The volleyball group, led by Deshmukh Gopaul, has been given a new lease of life and now has several new members. A 6x6 mixed team is now playing competitively again. The 4x4 team in the championship is maintaining a steady mid-table position.

Training: For fun on Mondays at 12.15pm - Burgard Paris XV sports hall; competitive training on Wednesdays at 8pm - Renoir Paris XIV sports hall.

The basketball group, led by Quentin Grassin, is also going from strength to strength with the recent addition of new members. Come and join them every Monday at the Burgard sports hall (12.15-1.30pm).

From February, the martial arts groups will be able to train on brand new tatami mats.

The sports club will also be electing its new Board at its upcoming AGM on Friday March 3. All sports club members are invited to attend. Your participation is vital as we try to maintain the exciting new dynamic around the sports club.
