The Single Cell Resources Initiative is glad to announce the availability of the image-based single-cell sorting solution, based on droplet-microfluidics in P2+ environment.
Whereas the fluorescence- and size-based cell sorting is a common functionality of cell sorters, a sensitive image-based sorting is not achievable through conventional cell sorters. In the CB UTechS, the fluorescence- and image-based sorting (eukaryotes and prokaryotes) is now enabled by ODIN (Sensific) tool that has recently been installed on the droplet-based MicDrop microfluidics station for single cell/ single microorganism analysis and sorting. Downstream applications include RNA-Seq, DNA-Seq, single-cell secretion assays and other.
The “ODIN” tool enables automated image-based analysis and control of droplet microfluidics and offers an almost-instant high-throughput image-based analysis and sorting, using combined fluorescence and brightfield measures.
This new technology is available to all scientists on campus to strengthen scientific research in this area of advanced technology.
